Vitalise Europe’s Urban Bioeconomy

Challenge: The EU Bioeconomy Strategy sees cities becoming major circular bioeconomy hubs. But up to now very few cities have developed circular bio-based economy strategies and projects for the production of innovative bio-based products.

Solution: The HOOP project supports 8 lighthouse cities & regions in developing large-scale urban circular bioeconomy initiatives that will focus on sustainably obtaining innovative bio-based products from urban biowaste and wastewater. The HOOP Urban Circular Bioeconomy Hub will create an online platform to foster knowledge exchange and replication in cities across Europe.

Our role

G!E leads the project dissemination activities, transferring knowledge to cities across Europe. We work in close cooperation with member REVOLVE who lead on communication.
