Planting trees for the International Day of Forests

Brussels – Today we celebrated the International Day of Forests by planting trees. If you organised a Conference, you have probably wondered at least once what to do with old canvases that you are not going to reuse.

At Greenovate! Europe we found a win-win-win solution. We send the old canvases to a non-profit organisation in Germany that employs persons with physical or mental disabilities to make bags out of them. We then sell the bags and with the revenues we plant trees. Until today we supported the plantation of 760 trees.

With this simple process, we contribute to reforestation and to a circular economic model by repurposing old objects that would otherwise lie in a basement or, worse, in a landfill. We also support a non-profit business in its effort to integrate people that are usually more disadvantaged in finding a job.

Interested? Next time you pass by our offices, ask for a bag… or make some yourself!
