Join us in Brussels on 4-5 June for the HOOP Cities and Policy Conference to discuss and learn about implementing innovative circular bioeconomy solutions in cities and regions.
Over the last four years the HOOP project has provided Project Development Assistance to 8 lighthouse cities and regions, supporting them in the development of large-scale urban circular bioeconomy initiatives that focus on making bio-based products from urban biowaste and wastewater. During the process, partners have developed a suite of open-source tools, which have been shared with the HOOP Network of over 100 ambitious circular cities and regions.
The HOOP Cities and Policy Conference provides a unique meeting point for cities and regions, waste managers, circular bioeconomy experts and policy makers to exchange knowledge and solutions. The Conference is divided across two days:
- Day 1: HOOP Policy Conference: Day 1 will focus on barriers and drivers for the transition to local circular bioeconomy systems, creating a space for cities and regions to voice their concerns and challenges to EU institutions and federations.
- Day 2: HOOP Cities and Regions Conference: Day 2 will tell the stories of our HOOP cities and regions, reflecting on the ups and downs of their biocircular journeys. Experts will share the latest technologies, funding opportunities and stakeholder engagement strategies and the HOOP tools will be presented.
Ample networking opportunities will enable participants to connect with ambitious and like-minded colleagues from around Europe.
The Conference is hosted at the European Committee of the Regions, in the heart of Brussels’ EU quarter. Attendance is free of charge and travel expenses can be reimbursed for members of the HOOP Network of Cities and Regions. Registration is open until 24 May.
