Guide on smart specialisation for sustainable growth published

Brussels, 13 December – The European Commission has released a practical guide for European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Managing Authorities, outlining how to connect Smart and Sustainable Growth through Smart Specialisation.

The guide encourages Managing Authorities to put sustainable growth at the core of their research and innovation strategies for smart specialisation (RIS3) and demonstrates that sustainable and smart growth can go hand-in-hand in all EU regions and member states.

In particular, the guide focuses on eco-innovation, ecosystems and services, and sustainable energy.
