Challenge: Lignocellulosic and aquatic biomass are regarded as a valuable feedstock for biorefining due to their high productivity and potential for avoiding competition with arable land. Currently however, their economic competitiveness and performance make them hard to use in mass consumption sectors.
Solution: INN-PRESSME will develop and implement a sustainable Open Innovation Test Bed to support European companies to scale up their nano-enabled biomaterials and processes from TRL 4-5 to 7.
Duration: January 2021 – January 2025
