Challenge: Europe’s building stock is on the whole very energy inefficient and large-scale renovation is needed to upgrade buildings, reducing energy use and related emissions.

Solution: The EU-GUGLE project demonstrated the feasibility of nearly-zero energy building (NZEB) renovation models at scale across 260,000 m2 of living space in six European cities. The resulting smart renovation strategies were shared with over 50 other cities through the project Replication Cluster.

Duration: April 2013 – March 2018

We were responsible for project Communication and dissemination and the Replication campaign, in cooperation with our member Michael Heidenreich. We established a Replication Cluster of over 50 cities to share the experiences from the EU-GUGLE lighthouse cities. Contact: Martin Stroleny   Replication cluster of cities
