URSOILL focuses on restoring urban soils as a basis for resilient and sustainable cities. The project aims to boost stakeholder participation, connect research with practice, improve soil health monitoring, and enable replication across Europe.
URSOILL establishes a network of five Living Labs. Located in in Sweden (Humid Continental),Spain (Atlantic), Italy (Alpine), Greece (Mediterranean), and Luxembourg (Continental), the labs represent Europe’s diverse climatic and socio-economic contexts.
They serve as real-life, interactive innovation-ecosystems where local authorities, scientists, representatives of the civil society and the private sector come together to develop, test, and implement solutions for urban soil restoration. The Living Labs promote co-creation processes that ensure outcomes are scientifically sound, socially inclusive, and economically viable.
URSOILL is a Horizon Europe project that will run from September 2025 to February 2030.
Greenovate! Europe manages and leads all Communication and Dissemination activities in the project.
