Transforming biowaste into safe and effective soil improvers
Challenge: Soil degradation is considered a global emergency. 60 to 70% of EU soils are degraded due to unsustainable management practices.
Solution: bioSOILUTIONS intends to optimize four bio-waste valorisation routes to develop advanced bio-waste soil improvers. These improvers aim at enhancing the nutrient recovery of soils from bio-waste and, therefore, reducing landfilling and incineration.
Duration: June 2023 – May 2027
