Integrating Nature Based Solutions with New European Bauhaus values for sustainable, inclusive and resilient societies
Challenges:
Across Europe, many public spaces remain neglected: the “Sleeping Beauties” of our cities and towns. These areas often lack sustainability, inclusiveness, and resilience. Revitalising them requires uniting environmental goals, social needs, and aesthetic quality across diverse local contexts.
Solutions:
The Sleeping Beauty project, funded by the European Commission, aims to awaken these overlooked spaces using Nature-Based Solutions and New European Bauhaus values. Through six pilot sites across Europe, it transforms neglected areas into vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive community spaces inspired by the beauty of nature.
