Advanced Bio-based Refinery Intermediates

Challenge: Enhanced security and decarbonisation are significant drivers for the transformation of the energy sector. Commercial scale biofuel production is a key technology for hard to abate sectors such as marine and aviation.

Solution: ABATE will demonstrate combined thermochemical and biochemical technologies to valorise residual biomass into advanced bio-based refinery intermediates that meet the needs of the transport sector.  

Duration: September 2024 – August 2028
