NIBIO

The Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) plays a key role in advancing food security and safety, sustainable resource management, and innovation across Norway’s bio-based industries. Through research, knowledge production, and management support, NIBIO helps strengthen national resilience, create value for businesses, and contribute to societal development.

NIBIO works nationally and internationally, participating in a wide range of European and global research and innovation projects. Through these collaborations, the institute contributes to international knowledge exchange, scientific development, and cross-border solutions for a sustainable bioeconomy.

With approximately 750 employees located throughout Norway, NIBIO has a strong national presence, and its main office is situated in Ås in Akershus, just outside Oslo.
