MeeFS and ECO-SEE among construction innovations showcased at ECTP conference

18 November, Brussels - The building materials developed by the MeeFS and ECO-SEE projects were showcased as examples of cutting-edge innovation during the 7th European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP) conference, attended by over 100 people in Brussels last week.

The projects were among twelve selected for the ‘Innovation Cases Exhibition’, which gave a stage to real examples of how Europe’s construction industry innovates in various fields.

Both MeeFS and ECO-SEE had its own exhibition stand, manned by project partners, enabling face-to-face interaction with conference attendees from across the construction industry. With both projects now in the demonstration phase, it was an ideal opportunity to have discussions with interested parties about the future potential of each technology and the possibilities for commercialisation or further development.

In addition to the booths, the MeeFS retrofitting system was presented by Magdalena Rozanska, from coordinating company Acciona, during the conference session on ‘new technical solutions to accelerate the renovation of Europe's building stock’.

The ECTP conference is an important international event dedicated to present and discuss current and anticipated innovation in the built environment field. This year’s discussions showed that both ECO-SEE and MeeFS are on trend with the most pressing Research and Innovation priorities, with energy efficiency, pre-fabrication, and BIM (Building Information Modelling) featuring high on the agenda.
